Alton Academy 2 Lost to IOW 3 in a close match.
With the home team having higher Gradings in 3 of the strings, the match was always going to be in their favour. The away team proved the statisticians wrong though by clinching a great win.
On paper, the number 4 string should have been the closest, with only 3 ranking points separating the two players before the match.
The Away player, Aaron Weeks, did well therefore to secure the win.
It was the number 5 String which turned out to be the most competitive, with the Players battling out over a total of 134 Points ! Victory finally going to the Away Player, Tim Luker.
If the Home No. 1 player, Paul Searle, had not had to withdraw after 2 game(s) the result could have been closer.
